MISCELLANEOUS I have recently completed an image for a friend's blog; she - and her, now, fiance - embarked on a round-the-world tour last autumn, dedicated in no small part to the pursuit of superlative nightlife in exotic locations - absolutely required reading! Check it out at:http://www.theflybynight.com Just finished the third installment (illustrations and book design) of the Soundroutes phonics reading programme (of which more below...),and putting the final touches to a related volume designed to help carers of children with reading difficulties. The wedding invitations and related stationery were, against odds including a serious knife wound to my drawing thumb (sustained while washing up - yes, that dramatic), completed in time for The Big Day. In the end, I was quite pleased with the outcome, although now have a surfeit of 'Dreadnought Grey' card and acres of v. narrow white satin ribbon for which I have yet to find appropriate use... I'll be adding a slideshow of the stationery (invitations, orders of service, menus, placecards and seating plan) shortly. | BOOKS... An Illustrated History of 1066 was launched at Borders bookshop in Oxford during the Oxford Literary Fringe Festival and is available to purchase through Amazon for the bargain price of £9.99...http://www.amazon.co.uk If you'd like a signed copy, I can arrange to order direct from the supplier and forward the book/s (post-personalized scribblings) on to you - just send a request to the address on my contact page. A three-stage language coaching programme - designed by two Child Psychologists, Claire Bolitho and Sabina Melidis, affiliated with Camden Borough Council - that specifically caters to the needs of children diagnosed with dyslexia, will soon be available from their website: http://www.soundroutes.com |
